BackupEDGE supports the industry standard S3 Object Storage API.

  • Leverage your Internet bandwidth to perform secure backups restors, and bare metal disaster recovery, LIVE, to object storage providers around the world.
  • Create a storage repository using your choice of object storage providers and locations (Regions) around the world.
  • Uses the BackupEDGE "s3cloud" Resource type.
  • Perform LIVE object storage backups, or set up live backups to a local storage Resource and have them copied automatically to your object storage repository automatically.
  • Many cloud-based object storage providers offer S3 compatibility. Tested providers are listed here, or you may ask your favorite object storage provider if they support the S3 API.
  • You may also create your own private object storage cloud using MINIO.

The above listed providers and others use scalable, decentralized, fault tolerant server infrastructures to guarantee 99.9% data availability at a cost far less expensive than building a datacenter and renting space. The only concern for the user is the reliability and speed of their own Internet connection.
