BackupEDGE Re-Activation Policies

Under most circumstances, including product updates and RecoverEDGE bare metal disaster recovery, it is never necessary to re-activate a BackupEDGE license.

Should the situation arise, you may generally re-activate a BackupEDGE license using the original BackupEDGE version and your original activation form and key, on the operating system version where it was originally activated. If you do not have this form please check with your reseller as many resellers retain this information on your behalf.

UNDER A CURRENT SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE SUBSCRIPTION: (Version 3.x)

Reason for Re-activation Resolution
Manual rebuild after a disaster - exact same operating system release and hardware. Use original activation form or request re-activation from Microlite - No Charge.
Manual rebuild after a disaster - exact same operating system release, newer hardware. Use original activation form or request re-activation from Microlite - No Charge.
Manual rebuild after a disaster - newer operating system release. Install latest release of BackupEDGE 3.x. Use current serial number on registration form or request new serial number from Microlite if going from 2.x to 3.x. No Charge.
Migrate to newer operating system releases or any supported operating system. Install latest release of BackupEDGE 3.x. Use current serial number on registration form or request new serial number from Microlite if going from 2.x to 3.x. No Charge. Old server can't be used after new server activated.
Change Host Name. Request re-activation from Microlite - No Charge.
Change Company Name.† Licenses are not transferable - new license must be purchased.

† A company name may be changed in the event the original company has been acquired by the new company. Contact Microlite Corporation for details. No Charge if under a current Support and Maintenance Subscription.

Support and Maintenance Subscription extensions and renewals for BackupEDGE 2.x products are no longer available.

FEE SCHEDULE

Re-activation fee for 03.0x products not under Subscription is $50.00.

Re-activation fee for 02.0x and 01.0x products is $100.00.
