Problem Description
|
I'm setting up an ftp server to use with BackupEDGE using Xinuos 10 or FreeBSD as the ftp repository.
When testing media, I get:
> REST 262144
< 350 Restarting at 262144. Send STORE or RETRIEVE to initiate transfer.
> RETR backupedge.txt.0
< 150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for 'backupedge.txt.0' (524288 bytes).
* Maxdownload = 10241
* Getting file with size: 10241
* Remembering we are in dir ""
> ABOR

Cause
|
|
The actual failure is in the ABOR (abort) command. The default ftp program provide with Xinuos Open Server 10
and some other FreeBSD based releases apparently does not support the abort command.

Solution
|
|
It is advised to download and install ProFTPD. Use this as your defailt ftp program.
