Problem Description
|
|
The edgemenu program under AIX will scramble the screen when navigating
to another program called from the menu.
|
|
Cause
|
|
This happens usually when the terminal is hard wired to the system. Meaning
it is connected to the server via a serial port.
The program edge.remote does not take into account the existence of the serial
connection. This causes a handshake error and scrambles the screen.

Solution
|
|
Replace /usr/lib/edge/bin/edge.remote with a new one. This updated edge.remote program can be downloaded from our ftp server. The address is ftp://ftp.microlite.com/pub/fixes/edge.remote.aix.
To install it, copy it into the /tmp directory on your AIX server. Then type the command 'cat /tmp/edge.remote.aix > /usr/lib/edge/bin/edge.remote'
