Release

BackupEDGE 01.01.06 for Open Server 5.0.x
Problem
-
BackupEDGE prompts for volume 2 during verify, when none existed.
Cause
-
This problem has been traced to an error in the SCO tape device
driver. It was introduced in the early releases of Open Server 5.0.0.
The error falsely reports a media error during a read as an EOF
marker, therefore causing edge to prompt for a second volume.
Solution
-
SCO will bug report this and offer a correction in a later release.
This will only correct the error reporting, not the media error.
The error condition is still a hard I/O read error and should be
treated as such. Common remedies are to try new tapes, clean the
tape heads, check cabling and termination.
