Problem Description
I would like to configure an unattended Master Backup to be run on Sundays,
with unattended Incremental Backups on Monday through Friday. I don't see
how to perform this through edge.cronset
Cause
BackupEDGE's shell script edge.cronset does not permit this type of
function. Even though the script is not designed to perform such a
request, it is not impossible to do.
Solution
While logged in as root, execute edge.cronset, configure the
unattended Incremental, save & exit.
At the root prompt "#" type crontab -l to verify the line entry
containing /etc/edge.nightly -IB ...
Once this is verified edit the file /usr/spool/cron/crontabs/root,
change /etc/edge.nightly to /etc/edge.increm. Save the change,
then copy /etc/edge.nightly to /etc/edge.increm.
Execute edge.cronset to configure a Master Backup for Sunday only,
save & exit from edge.cronset to put all changes into effect.
Notes
The entry for /etc/edge.increm will not be maintainable through
edge.cronset.
