Installing from .elf Self-Extracting Archives

.elf files are self-extracting UNIX / Linux executables.  If you have internet access directly from your UNIX / Linux machine(s), or can transfer files from a system on your network that has internet access, this installation method is probably the easiest to use.

To install BackupEDGE from a .elf file, do the following:

  1. Download the .elf file and transfer it to your UNIX / Linux machine.  We'll use /tmp/edgesc71.elf for this example.
  2. # chmod +x /tmp/edgesc71.elf
  3. # /tmp/edgesc71.elf

Installation will then begin.
